A Reading Circle on Migration and Identity
Bloom Helsinki invites you to a thoughtful and engaging reading circle exploring themes of migration, identity, and belonging.
This session brings together two powerful works that reflect on displacement, reinvention, and the experience of building a sense of self across cultures.
Featured Books
Scattered All Over the Earth – Yoko Tawada
A near-future story following a climate refugee navigating identity through language and movement across borders.
The Ungrateful Refugee – Dina Nayeri
A deeply personal and critical reflection on the refugee experience and the expectations placed on those who seek belonging.
Both books are available through Helmet libraries.
Participants are encouraged to read one or both texts in advance, but everyone is welcome to join the discussion regardless of how much they have read.
The session will be facilitated by Suzy Zhang, Event Coordinator at Bloom Helsinki.
Join us for a meaningful conversation in a safe and open environment, where diverse perspectives and experiences are valued.
